The Importance of Inspection on Flat Webbing Slings

Safety in production is crucial for the lives and property of individuals. Therefore, when using lifting slings, it is even more important to prioritize safe operations. The inspection of lifting slings is the first step in ensuring safety. Let DMSLING guide you through the aspects of inspecting flat webbing slings.

Before First Use:

Ensure that the flat webbing sling precisely matches the specifications in the order. Verify the availability of our factory's certificate (DMSLING). Confirm that the identification and Working Load Limit (WLL) marked on the sling align with the information on the certificate.

Before Each Use:

Inspect the flat webbing sling for defects and verify correct identification and specifications. A lifting sling without proper identification or with defects should not be used and must be referred to a competent person for examination.

During Use:

Conduct frequent checks for defects or damage, including damage hidden by soiling, which could compromise the safe use of the textile sling. Extend these checks to fittings and lifting accessories used with the lifting sling. If there is any doubt about fitness for use or if required markings are lost or illegible, remove the sling from service for examination by a competent person. Examples of defects or damage likely to affect the fitness of lifting slings for continued safe use include surface chafing, cuts, chemical attack, heat or friction damage, and damaged or deformed fittings.
